Reference and Information Services (RIS) is one of the divisions at Blazer Library. This division serves the students, faculty, staff and the community at large in their quest for using the library resources, services, and the Library as a whole.   Departments and services in the division of Reference and Information Services are the Reference Department, Circulation Department, Government Document Services, Inter Library Loan Services, Curriculum Department and Library Instruction Services.

To accomplish the objectives of RIS, the division utilizes the Reference Department to provide scholarly research assistance and general information quest of students, faculty, staff and the community.  Circulation Department provides circulatory services to library patrons. Library users check books in and out of the library in this department.  The circulation department also houses the Reserve materials. Government Documents  in the RIS division manages all the Federal government publications and make them available to patrons. Where the library does not own material needed by our patrons, the Inter Library Loan Services  provide the opportunity and service of borrowing such material throughout the United States for patrons’ use. Bearing in mind that the young, particularly P-12 students are the future of tomorrow, and also the importance of educating high quality teachers for these level, Curriculum Department of RIS provide P-12 books, text books, and teacher education material to Library users.  In order to familiarize Blazer Library users with the various resources and services in the entire Library, Library Instruction Services provide continuous instructional sessions for patrons as requested.
