FACULTY OPPORTUNITIES
Faculty ExchangesOur growing partners overseas welcome exchanges from KSU faculty. Come visit OGEP to learn more.
If you or your department know of a university that is interested in an exchange, let us know.
Remember, we have
limited ability to invite visitors, but that does not limit our ability to send our faculty abroad.
Teaching AbroadFaculty at KSU are encouraged to teach programs abroad. One way we can do this is by having you teach for one of our partner consortia abroad. Another way is to sponsor a program internally. Come see us for more details.
Volunteering with International StudentsOur visiting international students are an important part of internationalizing KSU. They want and need our support. There is an International Student Association that needs our support. Students visiting from other countries love it when locals - especially faculty - show them around or join them on an excursion. Come visit us at OGEP to hear of more volunteer opportunities.
Funded ProgramsThere are many ways that faculty can work internationally via funded programs. A few examples are the
Council for International Exchange of Scholars, the
Fulbright Program, and the
IIE Center for International Partnerships in Higher Education. It is important that faculty take the initiative, but Senior KSU Administration, OGEP, the Office of Sponsored Programs, and your departments and colleges are in full support of such endeavors.
CIEE is a well-established organization advocating for international education. Part of its service is to offer professional development opportunities for faculty members. While KSU is not yet a member institution, faculty can still participate in their programs. In the Summer of 2010 Dr. Cynthia Shelton, a KSU faculty member, is going on a CIEE trip to Botswana and South Africa. Check out their website for more information:

Instructions on Inviting Students on Special Scholarships and ExchangesWhen a department or college wants to invite a student on a special scholarship, or even an exchange (when an exchange agreement is in place), OGEP will help the student get the student the proper visa. The instructions on the "
Instructions for Inviting International Students on Exchanges, Special Scholarships and/or Assistance" document will guide you through the process.
