This program helps enhance the basic skills of the student in grades K-5. We provide tutors in various areas: Social Studies, Reading, Writing, English, Math, and much more. Students are given assignments when homework has been completed. Tutors and the program coordinator monitor the students' school progress. Students are encouraged to use their minds in problem solving and to use "analytical thinking". They are encouraged to study regularly to achieve their goals. This is to change the attitudes towards life, while having fun and enjoying learning. It is our desire to change the attitudes of our youth with emphasis on enhancing knowledge through education that will help them in their personal growth. All students are required to bring their schoolwork.
Who do we serve and what are our goals?
We serve the Frankfort Community, targeting the Douglas Avenue area. We provide this service at no cost to the family.
We provide snacks for each student on a daily basis. Our goals are to expand the program adding grades 6-12, and to provide additional tutors and to provide an Educational Summer Enrichment Program.
Who are our tutors?
Our tutors are Kentucky State University Students (Work-Study, CASS, Greek Organizations and others) there are also volunteers from the community.
