The Kentucky State University School of Nursing is on an exciting trajectory upward. Currently, the Kentucky State University School of Nursing (SoN Philosophy) provides two accredited nursing programs. A pre-licensure, Associates Degree in Nursing and a RN-BSN program for registered nurses who want to complete the course requirements to obtain a Bachelors Degree of Science in Nursing. Information on both programs can be found below. The School is in the process of creating a BSN program and a Doctor of Nursing Practice program. We are currently looking for the Chair for the School of Nursing / Assistant Dean of the College of Professional Studies, a Coordinator of Graduate Studies in Nursing, and prospective students for the Doctor of Nursing Practice.

Students admitted to the university may be classified to one of the following major categories for nursing:
Nursing Associates (NUA): Nursing student who has met admission requirements and enrolled in the pre-licensure, Associate Degree Nursing Program.
Nursing Registered (NUR): A registered nurse admitted to the RN-BSN who meets admission requiremments for the Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Must be a liscensed registered nurse who is able to practice nursing in Kentucky.
- Nursing Pre-admission (NUP): University students who are not directly admitted to the pre-licensure, Associate Degree program but are actively taking support and liberal studies courses required in the nursing curriculum.
