The School of Nursing (SoN Philosophy) provides two accredited nursing programs. A pre-licensure, Associates Degree in Nursing and a RN-BSN program for registered nurses who want to complete the course requirements to obtain a Bachelors Degree of Science in Nursing. Students admitted to the university may be classified to one of the following major categories for nursing: 

  • Nursing Associates (NUA): Nursing student who has met admission requirements and enrolled in the pre-licensure, Associate Degree Nursing Program.

  • Nursing Registered (NUR): A registered nurse admitted to the RN-BSN who meets admission requiremments for the Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Must be a liscensed registered nurse who is able to practice nursing in Kentucky.

  • Nursing Pre-admission (NUP): University students who are not directly admitted to the pre-licensure, Associate Degree program but are actively taking support and liberal studies courses required in the nursing curriculum.
