Dr. Ulrich was employed by the Kentucky Department of Public Health in the HIV/AIDS Branch. He also worked in the private, not-for-profit sector as Director of a homeless facility for HIV+ men, care coordinator, and housing case manager. His research interests include Geriatrics, Community Planning, HIV/AIDS, and GLBT issues. In 2010, he was named a Goodwill Ambassador by the Kentucky Equality Federation. He serves a consultant to Kentucky HIV/AIDS Advocacy Action Group. His is a member of Sigma Tau Gamma national fraternity and in his spare time gardens..
