Minor in English
A minor in English requires the completion of 21 semester credit hours in the following courses:
ENG 214: Persuasive Writing
ENG 313: Non-Western Literature
One language class. Choose from:
ENG 311: Advanced Grammar
ENG 314: History of the English Language
ENG 317: Linguistics
One British and one American Survey class:
ENG 322: Survey of British Literature I or
ENG 323: Survey of British Literature II
and either
ENG 324: Survey of American Literature I or
ENG 324: Survey of American Literature II
One major author class:
ENG 411: Shakespeare
ENG 415: Major Author(s)
One elective (any 300/400 level ENG class).
In addition to the above courses, a teaching minor in English requires the completion of 24 semester credit hours including ENG 390. These requirements are in addition to ENG 101, 102, and 211.
