Kentucky State University

William Earle Stilwell, IV, MS

Wes was born in Lexington, Kentucky. Growing up he loved living on the edge of town, he spent most of his time in the creeks or forests which were, at the time, only a short walk away.

Wes graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture with a BS in Forestry. He worked at the Forestry department for Dr. Jeffery W. Stringer his senior year and was hired on full-time after he graduated. Under Dr. Stringer’s guidance Wes collected data throughout Robinson Forest, and served as a Teacher’s Assistant for the Silviculture Class. Robinson Forest is UK’s research forest and consists of over 13,000 acres in far Eastern Kentucky. Mr. Stilwell was unable to articulate what a positive impact, that summer of living alone in the forest, had on him.

Wes earned his Masters in Aquatic Sciences from KSU in 2008 and has been employed by the University as Coordinator and Manager Environmental Education Center since 2005. Wes loves his job here at KSU and eagerly welcomes every challenge each new day brings.
