Kentucky State University

Victoria Burke

Ms. Victoria Burke began her new role on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 with the Kentucky State University Cooperative Extension Program.

Ms. Burke was born, raised, and partly educated in Uganda. She moved to Kentucky, where she attended Berea College. Later she attended the University of Kentucky where she received a Masters in Agricultural Economics.

Burke’s entrepreneurial experience was gained through recent work with Agro Enterprising companies based in Uganda for the past five years. While there she worked with the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) and was involved in almost all parts of the participating companies’ supply chain. Starting from ‘farm-gate’ to the ‘export market,’ this allowed for interaction between farmers, traders, educators, inspectors, and government regulators.

Prior to this, she worked for the University of Kentucky Agricultural Economics department for four years, and with the Community Farm Alliance for over five years. She has shared that she is “delighted to be a part of the KSU Cooperative Extension Family.”

Ms. Burke is an instructor of two undergraduate Economics classes at Kentucky State University.
