Marion Gibson

 

Marion Gibson, MPA, serves as Director of the SKY (Strengthening KY) Families Program, Kentucky State University’s Cooperative Extension Program. Established in 2004 in collaboration with the Fayette County Family Court, and the Imani Family Life Center, Inc., the Program provides a culturally strategic parenting program in the Lexington community. The identified need resulted in the establishment of partnerships with the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services’ Department for Community Based Services, Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky, the Imani Family Life Center, Inc., and the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service. More than 30 families who are working to strengthen their families participate in the program each year.

Prior to joining Kentucky State University’s Cooperative Extension Program, Mrs. Gibson worked in the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff’s College of Agriculture, Department of Human Sciences where she served as the Head Start Partnership Program Director. And, prior to that, she served as both Special Projects Manager and Operations Manager while with the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Marion earned a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
