Kristopher R. Grimes, Ph.D.

 

Dr. Grimes graduated from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky with a B.S. in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology and Religious Studies. He also played third base for the Centre Colonels.

Following graduation, he took his interest for molecular biology and sports/nutrition to the University of Kentucky, where he graduated in 2006 with a Ph.D. in Nutritional Sciences with an emphasis on the treatment of chronic disease, specifically lung cancer.

After serving some time as the director of a national non-profit organization, Dr. Grimes’ desire to return to the area of nutrition, health, and education led him to Kentucky State University, where he serves as the State Specialist for Nutrition and Nutrition Education and the Project Director for the Center for Family Nutrition and Wellness Education. His interests are looking at behavioral aspects involved in nutrition and chronic disease.

Dr. Grimes is married with an eight-year old son and a little one on the way.
