Dr. James H. Tidwell

 

Jim is originally from a small town in Alabama. He received his BS in biology from the University of Alabama-Birmingham, his MS in biology from Samford University, and his Ph.D. in Aquaculture from Mississippi State University.

Jim has been at KSU since 1987. His positions have included Principle Investigator, Program Area Coordinator, and for the last 10 years Chair of the Division of Aquaculture.

He is a past-president of both the US Aquaculture Society and the World Aquaculture Society. His primary research interests include the development of alternative species and his work in recent years has concentrated on freshwater prawns and largemouth bass. He also conducts research on practical nutrition/diet development for those species.
