Dr. Boris Gomelsky has 30 years of fish genetics research experience in the United States, Israel, and Russia. Dr. Gomelsky has authored more than 50 scientific articles and textbooks on fish genetics.
At Kentucky State University Dr. Gomelsky performs studies on genetics of different aquaculture species, including crappie, koi, largemouth bass, and freshwater prawn. Main directions of his research are genetic sex regulation, chromosome set manipulation methods (induced gynogenesis and polyploidy), inheritance of morphological traits, and development and application of DNA genetic markers.
Dr. Gomelsky teaches classroom and online courses in Fish Genetics and Fish Reproduction and supervises graduate students in their Master’s thesis research projects. |
