Our vision of Innovation in Teaching, Learning, and Assessment incorporates research-based approaches to faculty development, instructional development and organizational development in order to enhance student learning and success. This vision is realized through mechanisms that include the following:
- Assisting new and experienced university instructors in increasing their knowledge of teaching, learning, assessment, instructional models and tools targeted to improving student success.
- Disseminating pedagogical research and practical resources based on faculty and institutional needs.
- Assisting faculty, with designing, creating, implementing, documenting, evaluating and communicating about innovative classroom and online instruction.
- Promoting the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) campus-wide.
- Supporting continued faculty growth, engagement and career development across the professional lifespan.
- Modeling the use of effective strategies and tools for teaching, learning, and assessment.
- Facilitating organizational development for enhancing teaching and learning.
- Implementing collaborative mechanisms to establish more effective processes for enhancing student outcomes.
- Advocating for research-based initiatives for teaching, learning, and assessment to support student success.
- Convening, facilitating, collaborating with and supporting other academic excellence efforts at Kentucky State University and in the state.
