Email - Microsoft Outlook
Every student is assigned a Kentucky State University (KSU) email address. It is important that you sign on, change your password, and regularly check your KSU email. Official University information is sent to you via your KSU email account.
Getting Started
Student accounts are automatically created for all students, and provide access to student email and on-site access to the computer labs.
New student account passwords are preset.

The username will be: [First Name].[Last Name] Example of a username: John.Doe

The initial password will be [Ksu] and your student ID number typed without hyphens. Please note, passwords are case sensitive. (If you do not know your SID number, you may contact the Registrar's Office at 502-597-6340.) Example of a password Ksu987654

Your email address will be the user name followed by @kysu.edu
Example of an email address: john.doe@kysu.edu
Student account passwords for returning students are not reset. However, the life of a password is 90 days. This means that students are required to change their passwords every 90 days based on the date of their last password change.
Passwords can be changed on-site in the labs or remotely via the email server.
To login and change your password remotely, follow the steps below:
Remember to log out once you are finished with the computer so that no one can access your data or e-mail.
