If you have forgotten your password, contact the department responsible for the account. You will be required to verify your identity before your password will be reset.
Student Accounts
Student Account passwords are reset by Information Technology. You can get your password reset in the Student Center Lab, located on the bottom floor of Carl M. Hill Student Center or you can request help via email at helpdesk@kysu.edu or call the Help Desk at 502-597-5733.
The Student Center Lab hours are:
Mon - Thurs 8 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.
Fri 8 a.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Sat 10 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Blackboard Accounts
Blackboard passwords can be reset by your instructor. They can also be reset by the Blackboard Coordinator, Jennifer Miles. She can be contacted at: jennifer.miles@kysu.edu or 502-597-7023.
WIRED Accounts
For new students, WIRED account passwords are reset by the Admissions Office. Admissions is located in the Academic Services Building Suite 312. They can also be contacted at 502-597-6813.
For continuting students WIRED Account passwords are reset by the Office of the Registrar. The Office of the Registrar is located in the Academic Services Building Suite 323. They can be also contacted at 502-597-6340.
Password Guidelines
After you initially log in, students will be required to have to change their passwords. Below are the password guildelines for the university:
1. Passwords must be at least 8 characters in length.
2. Passwords must contain at least one of the following:
-Upper-case alphabet character (eg. A, C, Q, etc.) or
-Special character (eg. *, %, !, etc.) or
-Numeric character (eg. 1, 2, 4, etc.)
3. Must not have any part of your name in it
4. Cannot match the last 5 passwords
Example of a password: KSUisGR8
Remember to log out once you are finished with the computer so that no one can access your data or e-mail.
