To dispute a parking ticket, a written appeal must be submitted to the Parking Office within 14 days of issuance of the ticket. Parking appeals will not be accepted after 14 days. Any appeal that does not have all the required documents will not be considered. Only appeals made within the prescribed time, on the official form, and pre-paid will be considered.
The Appeals Committee will evaluate the written appeal and render a decision in accordance with the parking regulations. Describe the facts of the matter. List the circumstances; when, where, how and why it occurred.
Do not include any criticism of the parking regulation in your appeal. Remember, the issue in your appeal is not whether the parking regulations are fair, but whether you violated the regulations.
The Appeal Committee meets once every semester. If the appeal is won, the pre-payment will be reimbursed to the ticket holder’s account.
The appeal process is as follows:
- Pay the fine for the violation at the Bursar’s Office (located in ASB)
- Attach the pink copy of the parking ticket and the paid receipt to the appeal form.
- Submit the appeal to the Parking Office within 14 days of the date the vehicle was cited.
