How do I apply for Summer 2012 Financial Aid?
- Complete the 2011-12 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (www.fafsa.ed.gov). Current aid students should already have one on file.
- Submit a Kentucky State University (KSU) Summer 2012 Financial Aid Application (available in the Financial Aid Office and online at www.kysu.edu). Priority deadline is Monday, April 16, 2012.
You must have completed the 2011-2012 FAFSA with KSU’s school code 001968. Submit all requested information to complete your financial aid file. The Financial Aid Office will mail you an award letter as your file has been completed.
You should register for all summer classes by June 6, 2012. YOU SHOULD SUBMIT THE SUMMER AID APPLICATION AFTER YOU HAVE REGISTRED FOR CLASSES. The Financial Aid Office can not adjust your federal grant award for class changes that occur after June 6, 2012.
If you used your maximum Stafford Loans per your grade level and attended full time in fall 2011 and spring 2012, you would not have remaining Pell Grant or Stafford Loan eligibility for summer 2012. This includes aid received at other institutions during the 2011-2012 year.
CURRENT Students: We cannot determine your eligibility for Summer 2012 financial aid until Spring 2012 grades have been evaluated.
You can charge your books to your financial aid account if your file is complete and you have funds in excess of tuition, fees, etc. to cover. Your financial information will be forwarded to the Bookstore beginning June 1, 2012.
Students wishing to be considered for summer student loans should have all forms submitted to the Financial Aid Office by Monday, July 16, 2012.
