Network Storage

Faculty and Staff are provided with space on the KSU network for storing files. Once you are logged into KSU's network, this storage space can be accessed. Your network drive or folder is the h:/ drive, faculty and staff members have a maximum storage capacity of 256 megabytes. Anyone exceeding these limits will be warned and will be unable to save anything further until the size is reduced to below the limit.

Although network storage is a system dedicated to storing files and is protected with backups, it is not perfect and should not be the only means of file storage. KSU cannot guarantee files stored on the network. Backups on the server are intended only for disaster recovery at a system level. They are not intended to retrieve individual files that may have been corrupted or deleted.

Start good work habits early. You should never trust important files to any one means of storage. As a best practice, always back up your important files to another storage mechanism, such as a USB portable drive (flash/jump/thumb), burn them to a CD or email them to yourself). Remember you are responsible for the files on your account!
