Applying for an Email Account
The University provides email accounts to all faculty and staff. To apply for an email account, stop by Information Technology in Academic Service Building (ASB), room 379 or download an Email Access form, accessible on campus only. You can mail the form to ASB 379 or fax to ext. 6111. When we receive your form you will be contacted with your email account information.
Email - Microsoft Outlook
Microsoft (R) Outlook (TM) Web Access is a Microsoft Exchange Active Server Application that gives you private access to your Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Exchange personal email account so that you can view your Inbox from any Web Browser. It also allows you to view Exchange server public folders and the Address Book from the World Wide Web.
Email Login Policy
Your username will be: First Name.Last Name
Example of a user name: John.Doe
Initial passwords are set by the Helpdesk using these password policies:
1.Passwords must be at least 8 characters in length.
2. Passwords must contain one of the following:
-Upper-case alphabet character (eg. A, C, Q, etc.) or
-Special character (eg. *, %, !, etc.) or
-Numeric character (eg. 1, 2, 4, etc.)
-Passwords will expire every 60 days.
Example of a password: KSUisGR8
Your email address will be the user name followed by @kysu.edu
Example of email address: john.doe@kysu.edu

Obtaining Microsoft Office Software
Faculty and staff can obtain Microsoft software in the following ways :

Home Installation - Under the University's MS Work At Home agreement, faculty and staff are entitled to KSU licensed MS products (see the list below). Contact KSU Helpdesk and schedule an appointment to have the software downloaded to a CD-R. You will be asked to fill out the Microsoft WAH acceptance form in ASB 379 and provide your own CD-R for the download.

Office PC installation - Contact the KSU Help desk to have an IT technician install the software to your office machine.
Available Microsoft Software Titles
The following software titles are currently available through our Agreement. The Campus Agreement grants you the option, “during the term of this agreement to run the most current version of the software."

NOTE: For personal use, faculty, staff, and graduate students may purchase Academic Edition full packaged product. Academic Edition software costs less than retail software. When purchasing full packaged product, you are not limited to work-related use.
