How do I sign up for an E-mail Account?

Why do I have an KSU official student email address?

Every student is assigned a Kentucky State University (KSU) email address. It is important that you sign on, change your password, and regularly check your KSU email. Official University information is sent to you via your KSU email account.

What is my email address?

Your email address will be your user name followed by @kysu.edu (Your user name is [first name].[last name]) Example of an email address: john.doe@kysu.edu

How do I access my official student email account?

To check your e-mail, open Internet Explorer, or the Web browser of your choice.
Type in the following address: https://stumail.kysu.edu/exchange or type in www.kysu.edu, click on Current Student, then select email.

Why does my password expire every 90 days?
You are required to change your password to every 90 days to prevent unauthorised access to your account. The longer your password remains the same, the greater the risk that your password could be stolen and your account compromised. By regularly changing your password, the probability of someone stealing your password is greatly reduced.

Is there a disk or space quota on the email system?
Yes, the quota is set to 100 megabytes.

How do I know I am over the quota?
You will receieve an email indiciating that you are over the quota. You will be asked to delete some messages to free up space.
