Academic Counselor Assignments for Teams

Tutoring


Student-athletes may be required to attend mandatory tutoring sessions upon the recommendation of their athletics academic counselor or professor. All students are encouraged to take advantage of tutorial services provided by athletics and other campus personnel.

Tutors will be available for students in the academic center. A list of tutors’ academic center hours will be posted outside the academic center as well as in each counselor’s office.

Student-athletes who need extra assistance or who have time conflicts with a tutor’s academic center hours may request a private tutoring appointment by completing the Tutor Request forms .

Student-athletes are also encouraged to use the tutoring services provided by the PEP Center (Room 102, Hathaway Hall) and the CSC (Room 101, Hathaway Hall).


Mandatory Study Hall

All freshmen and transfers will be required to complete eight (8) hours of mandatory study hall per week for the entire academic year.

Continuing student-athletes with a cumulative GPA below 2.3 will be required to complete eight (8) hours of mandatory study hall per week in the academic center. Continuing student-athletes are released from the study hall program once they have attained a cumulative GPA of 2.3; however, they may be readmitted to the program if their cumulative GPA drops below 2.3 again.


Equipment in Lab

The following equipment is available to students:

    · Dell Desktop computers

    · Wireless Access Point

    · headphone jacks for sound

    · USB Port

    · Xerox Network printing

Report any problems with the computer equipment immediately to the Lab Manager on duty. Only authorized technicians are to move/remove or make modifications to lab equipment.


Software:

    · Each computer is loaded with licensed, University-approved software.

    · Downloading and/or installation of other programs is prohibited.

    · Only authorized technicians may install licensed, University-approved software.


Printers:

    · Users may print assignments and term papers.

    · Printers are not to be used for other purposes.

    · Excess printing is prohibited.


Conduct:

    · Food and drinks are not permitted.

    · Any behavior that impedes others from completing their coursework.

    · Children must be supervised by the parent/guardian and comply with lab policies.

    · Personal belongings left in the lab are placed in a Lost & Found box.

    · The managers are not responsible for lost/stolen items.

    · Your compliance with these policies is anticipated and appreciated.

Unwillingness to comply with the policy will result in requesting the person(s) to leave the facility. If this request is refused, Lab Managers will call the University Police.
